  2. 🔐 1. What Information We Collect

    School Daily connects to your Gmail account with your permission and accesses:

    • Your email address
    • Emails sent from domains you specify (typically your child’s school)
    • Metadata and content needed to summarise and extract calendar events

    We do not collect or store your password, device ID, or any personal information beyond what is required for the service to function.

  3. 🛠️ 2. How We Use This Information

    We use the information collected only to:

    • Aggregate emails from your child’s school into a single daily summary
    • Extract and sync relevant events into your calendar
    • Display your daily school updates in a readable format

    Your data is not sold, shared, or used for advertising purposes.

  4. 🔒 3. Data Storage and Security

    All data is securely processed using Google Cloud infrastructure located in London, United Kingdom.

    We ensure that all data is handled in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR.

    We only retain:

    • Your authenticated Gmail token
    • Unique Gmail Label ID that is added to school emails
    • Optional preferences (e.g. summary time, notification settings)

    We DO NOT retain:

    • User data obtained through Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train non-personalized AI and/or ML models.
    • Contents and metadata related to your emails.

    You can also delete your account and all associated data by logging into your dashboard at https://schooldaily.email and navigating to Settings > Delete My Account.

  5. 🔒 4. Limitation on User Data Transfer

    We DO NOT retain User data obtained through Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train non-personalized AI and/or ML models.

    The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

    We do NOT seel your data to third parites.

  6. 🔒 5. Limitation on Use of User Data

    We do not use your data for advertising purposes, or any other purposes that are not related to the app functionality.

    We only use your data in providing you features of the app.

  7. 🔒 6. Data protection mechanisms for sensitive data

    Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data.

    We use encryption to protect your information.

  8. 📬 7. Communication

    We may contact you via email for product updates, feature tips, or essential service information. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.

  9. 📤 8. Permissions

    School Daily requires your explicit permission via Gmail’s OAuth system to:

    • Read emails from specific senders (e.g. school domains you define)
    • Create calendar events on your behalf

    We do not have access to your full inbox unless you explicitly allow it — and you can revoke access at any time via your Google account settings.

    We will never share your data with law enforcement unless legally required by a UK court order. We comply with UK GDPR and all relevant data protection regulations.

    You can revoke School Daily’s access to your Gmail account at any time via:
